Waylon Wood | | I hope that you got to meet my high school friend, Lydia R. Diamond who's a resident playwright at Huntington. I hope that you and Jayne had a great run there. You both rock so! I continue to think about the play from the run in New York and I love me some Jayne! I'm slowly getting over the Tony's, tell her...If she had been in a Harry Potter movie, I'm sure she would've won. Tony night was the last night I have thrown any food products at the t.v. screen. Was it as fun in Boston? |

Bill C | | Hi, Lisa
I was privileged to see you perform "2.5 Minute Ride" at the City Theatre in Pittsburgh in 2004. My friends and I met you after the performance and learned that you were going off to NY to perform "Well" at the Public Theatre. We were very pleased to be able to see you and Jane Houdyshell, and were mesmerized by the construction of this work and ultimately, the compassion. So, when I learned that "Well" was playing in Boston at the time of a professional meeting, I was thrilled to get tickets for the Saturday matinee 3/24 and sit in the first row of the orchestra. This is a transformative work of theatre, and I salute you, the cast and especially Mary Pat for providing a memorable experience that can not fully be captured in words. |

Ilene | | A friend and I were lucky enough to see you and Well today at the Huntington. Your play is a masterpiece of theater--it is funny and yet profound on the topics of family, race, racism, illness and reality. Many thanks. |

Marlene | | Dear Lisa,
I saw Well at the Huntington last weekend with 9 other friends. As my friends would attest and one has known me for almost 45 years, this piece was like a mirror of my own life. When I laughed, I really laughed but when I cried, my friends were crying with me. How did you develop this piece? Is it autobiographical in some way. I realize there are many layers here both on a societal and personal level, but what I really want to know is if you had a personal experience with someone similar to the charecter of the mother? |

Jen | | Hi Lisa--
I saw you and Jayne Houdyshell at the Symphony Space this evening in NYC. Your performance of Well for MLK day was inspiring on this day of remembrance and action. I saw the show when it was on Broadway as well. What a delight to revisit those important ideas again tonight on stage.
Ironically, I'm also a Michigan native AND a Kalamazoo College grad (2002). I wanted to introduce myself this evening but didn't find the opportunity. It seems as though I keep crossing paths with you inadvertently.
Until next time . . .

I really enjoyed your performance at the MacDowell Colony Gala last night. You perfectly summed up my own parallel MacDowell experience (with one exception that I will not print here). :) If you ever publish the text I would love to have a copy so I could explain to my parents exactly what it is I do (or don't) at art colonies, and why.
I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet. Maybe some day! (I am on the cover of the program for the evening - I'm bursting through a tree, channeling Martha Graham.)
Keep up the good work!
Best wishes,

Elizabeth Ward | | Dear Ms. Kron:
Thank you for introducing us to your Mother by inviting us (the audience) into your Mom’s living room and life, and sharing such a thought-provoking and wonderful "multi-character theatrical exploration.”
Not since Lilly Tomlin’s, “In Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe” was I so captivated and entertained by a performance, complemented by a brilliant script.
It was a pleasure meeting you both.
Fingers crossed for you and Jayne Houdyshell to each bring home a Tony. Great casting, and "Well" done!
Sincerely,
Liz Ward

Tyler | | Lisa, first off congratulations on your Tony nomination! I just got through reading your reaction to finding out you were nominated on Broadway.com and I can't even begin to describe how touching it was. I just finished my freshman year in college and am a theatre major. I come from an extremely small town where I was convinced that I was great at acting. Suddenly, I'm in college and I can't get cast in anything and it hurt so bad because my one true passion and the only thing I thought I was good at in life- theatre- flew right out the window. But I have since come out of the 'depression' that put me in, and like you, have started writing a few plays. Your words are such an inspiration to me. I live in Arkansas so I won't get to come see 'Well', but from what I've seen online, it looks awesome. Thank you so much for your words.

You hear again and again of the critics surprise that an original American play actually made it to Broadway. What's up? Anyway, you did make it and it was a beautiful play! It stays with you long after the lights come up.
The night I was there, Friday, April 21st, the audience was good and the after chatter was fun to hear. I was wowed by it.
Congrats on the Tony nominations! You deserve them and deserve to win them. (What are you wearing?) You are a grand talent! I look forward to more great plays!

Anne | | Now THIS is a bummer. :( I had been wanting to see WELL ever since reading about it during my year in California back in 03/04 - so I was soooo excited about its coming to broadway that I immediately re-routed my trip to the US to NYC, and booked a ticket. And then I prayed for it to keep open till mid-June... Capitalism just never works for the little (queer) guy/girl, I guess. It's sad to be missing out. And I was so close, too!
The good news to soften the blow is that my TCG edition of Well arrived in the mail yesterday. So congratulations on the publication! All of us "near misses" are eternally grateful.
I'll keep my eye out for your next project - and take an immediate transatlantic swim, if that's what it takes. |

Maryanne Sea | | Dear Lisa, I am an American living in Perth, Australia. When the NY Times appeared in my INbox, I was somehow drawn to listen to an audio show about "Well." I knew why within minutes. I am someone who has also recovered from Environmental Illness and was also at Dr. Randolph's clinic in Chicago when I was 25. I have written a book about my recovery in which I unravel the emotional, mental and spiritual struggles that were a part of my physical illness. I would like to send you a copy as a gift. My only claim to fame is that I sent it to Oprah and was told four days later that the reviewers loved it and I should get all my medical records together and get ready to come to Chicago. A week later, 9/11 happened! I don't know how often you read this guestbook so I may simply ask the person in the booking information section where I might send Fire and Ice. It is simply a gift from one person who's endured MCS to another. I hope you like it.
Sincerely,
Maryanne Sea |

It was a great show when it was still growing and changing those years ago, and it has continued to be one of my favorite working experiences. It is so great to see that not only the play has been recognized for its great humor and itelligence but that the actors that you have been working with for so long, will also be recognized and continue to explore their parts on BROADWAY!! How exciting. I send nothing but the most heart-felt congratulations to you, Leigh and the cast. |

Nancy Young | | Grace and Don Flesche alerted us about the opening of "Well", and we are hoping that they can get out here in March to catch the show with us. We are "old" "K" alums - '67, '68, but since we have a summer place on Lake Michigan, we do get back to the Fair Arcadian Hill quite often. Looking forward to seeing your play!

Emma | | Dear Lisa,
My GF and I saw Well tonight - what a fantastic show. Thank you so much. Your mother is like the love child of her mother and my mother in numerous ways(!), but your mother's unique beauty shines through so strongly.
Her mother will be seeing it soon. My greatest wish is that you could take Well to London so that my mother can see it too!
Thanks again and congratulations on a wonderful, powerful, hilarious, moving, piece of theatre.

Fantastic website! Sorry I haven't written in a while, things have been crazy. Who designed your website? I haven't seen such creative talent in some time. It wouldn't surprise me if the web designer is related to me. Good luck and "Break a Leg!" -- Bill |
